Fashion at your Fingertips

Just a littled something that made me smile.

Rubbish Magazine in London is introducing a collection of finger puppets in the shape of  famous international fashion figures. There are about 20 puppets, divided into four sets that represent the fashion capitals of the world.

The Paris version:

27row650_2John Galliano, Karl Lagerfeld, Sonia Rykiel, Jean Paul Gaultier, Alber Elbaz.

And the Milan version (hmmm, not sure what Viktor & Rolf are doing here):

27row650_1Donatella Versace, Giorgio Armani , Miuccia Prada, Viktor & Rolf, Anna Piaggi.

Well, Karl is a bit bald and the sweater Viktor & Rolf are wearing isn’t very fashionable, but otherwise it’s pure genius! Even Donatella’s skin colour is true to life.

There’s also a London edition (with Giles Deacon, Vivienne Westwood, Paul Smith and Luella Bartley) and a New York one (with Donna Karan and André Leon Talley). Each set, in a limited edition of 100, costs £ 75 / $120 (……ok, I guess I won’t be giving these to my nieces for their birthdays this year), and will be sold at Liberty of London and Selfridges, and online at fashionablefingerpuppets.com.

Hot trend du jour: Knitting?

The may issue of UK fashion magazine Harper’s Bazaar gives away free Paul Smith cardigans! There’s only one problem……you have to knit it yourself.  I don’t know about you, but the last time I’ve knitted was when I was about seven years old, and I made a smurf……… So I think I will skip this trend. But maybe you have a nice grandmother who loves to knit? You can find the pattern of the striped Paul Smith cardigan on the Harper’s Bazaar website: http://www.harpersbazaar.co.uk/Fashion/Paul-Smith-Cardigan/v1

Anyway, in case you want to join the wonderfull world of knitting, here are some (sort of :-)) inspiring pictures.
