What Courtney Wore…

This is really funny: Courtney Love  has participated with some friends to create a website showing all the outfits she wears. She’s not the author of  www. whatcourtneyworetoday.com, but she sends her outfits by mail or phone on a daily (or so) basis to them, and they post it for her. The clothes are mostly big designer names, but I know she has a big vintage collection so I’m hoping we get a peek at that (please!).

Valentino dress.

Pucci dress, wolford tights and Anne boots.

Versace dress from 1998.

Alexander Wang sweater and Genetic denim shorts.

Navy Lanvin dress with Mikimoto pearls.

Chloë Sevigny for Opening Ceremony Spring 2011

Oh, Chloë! Is there any girl in the world that has better personal style than her? Not only is she a personal favorite of mine, but at Opneing Ceremony they think the same, because there’s a third collection with her designs for the New York brand. It’s a ‘pre-spring’ 2011 collection (???) and it’s perfect, I want it all. This collection focusses around five prints:  leopard, polka dot, paisley, houndstooth and floral, and also contains matching tights. The prints that have been used are by photographer Robert Mapplethorpe.

More 70’s Stuff: Denim Dungarees

Strange…..last summer I was obsessed by leather and zippers, and this summer I’m into the complete opposite of the fashion spectrum…..I’m loving anything 70’s rural/farmer/prairie/country-thingies. After the clogs (got them), maxi dresses (got them),  I’m now lusting after some denim dungarees. I don’t care which one, long legs, short legs or the dress version, just love them. Inspiration:

Summer’s here…

After the cold depressing weather of the past months we had the first warm days of the year……woohoo! The standard ‘problem’ I’m having around this time of the year is….what to wear to work? I’m soo sick of jeans and my usual black tights seem too wintery. Bare legs isn’t an option at my job. But I think I’ve finally got a perfect solution (other than the usual boring business attire). It’s very simple: take a maxi dress, a pair of heels and a tiny blazer or jacket, belt optional)….done! And the good thing about maxi dresses is that they’re in every store at the moment (scored a perfect maxi dress at H&M) and vintage maxi dresses aren’t that hard to find. Some inspiration:

Maxi dress by Zara

New dress by ‘Ossie Clark’

More Ossie….drool. From the AW2009 collection.

Great shape, but wacko print….feathers….peppers…empty balloons??

Chloé, Ready to Wear SS2010. I sooo want this dress…..

Dreamy superromantic dress by Laura Ashley in the 70’s.

I’m getting more and more jealous of Lily Allen’s wardrobe. This dress is simply divine.

Vintage treasure

Another perfect vintage dress by Thea Porter.

The World of Fashion Bloggers

First of all a big apology to all readers of this blog for not posting for some time: my laptop has died and I’m having it repeared, and I’ve been away to London (there isn’t a more inspirational place than London….I want to go back!), so that’s the reason. I have so much inspiration to blog about, but since I have five minutes to use my Dad’s laptop I will keep this short…..

I’ve run into this book: “Fashion Blogs: From musings on personal taste to style reports around the globe” by Kirstin Hanssen and Felicia Nitzsche.

The main part of the book are forty interviews with famous fashion bloggers from all over the world, like Style Bubble, Garance Doré, A Shaded View On Fashion, Glamcanyon, Sea of Shoes, Stil in Berlin, etc. Lots of pictures and articles about fashion journalism, street style photography, party photography and personal style blogs. A great read for anyone with a fashion or style blog…..
