Topshop Fall 2010 preview

Why is it that every time I think: ‘I have all the clothes I could ever dream of, my closet is perfect and from now on I’m going to start saving some cash’, then there’s Topshop with their new collection and I get the feeling I really, really, desperately need a ……… (name the uwearable trend of the season that my future grandchildren probably will find hilarious).

This Fall the cause of all this will be the Topshop collection. These are some of their Lookbook pictures, shot by Franck Sauvaire and styled by Katie Shillingford.

There are four subcollections:

  • Out Of The Wild:  A wild warrior girl in a post-apocalyptic world where fashion survivors battle the elements.
  • Dark Nouveau: A trip back in time to the dark ages, where the “sinister fairytales of the art nouveau movement” meet the dark and perverse images of illustrator Aubrey Beardsley.
  • Hi Performance: There’s another arty/conceptual description about this theme, but in normal language: sportswear.
  • The Outsiders: Mixes Britain’s heritage with modern fashion.

Love it!

Kate Moss for Topshop Summer 2010 Preview

Finally! After a disappointing collection of basic t-shirts and tops this spring, there’s a new, loveable Kate Moss for Topshop collection. A few pictures have leaked on the internet, and I like what I see. The Summer 2010 collection seems to have a romantic feeling: maxi dresses, floral prints, and pretty pastels are dominating the collection.

Instead of the usual promo stills, we can see Kate showing the collection in this video, shot by Nick Knight:

On sale this Thursday!

Kate Moss Essentials

The last couple of days I’ve been visiting the Topshop website daily, because I expect the Kate Moss ss2010 collection to be online very soon. But to my surprise the only collection to be found are some f*****g t-shirts!

The shirts are part of a collection of jersey basics:  tops, tees, and shirt-dresses in white, olive, baby blue and pale pink. All off them have simple details like patch pockets and rivets.

The strange thing is, I’ve never had any problems with finding good and affordable basics. Plain white t-shirst can be found anywhere, so I don’t get the point of this collection. But hey, I’m sure the Kate Moss tag will sell lots!

Finally…..Topshop goed Dutch

It’s always been a mystery to us Three in a Crowd-girls why every country in Europe has a Topshop store, except the Netherlands…….but finally our prayers have been answered, because there will be a Dutch store in the near future! Our gossip sources name two locations: Amsterdam and/or Rotterdam, but it seems Rotterdam is more likely. No further information yet, so a bit of the mystery continues……

Dress Me Up

Topshop came with a great idea: for just 40 pounds, you can be the lucky lady to hire a dress that has been worn by your favorite celeb. Bad news is, you can’t keep it, you hire it for just one day.

Topshop’s new initiative, Dress Me Up, will allow shoppers to hire dresses owned by celebs like Kate Moss, Scarlett Johansson, Erin O’Connor, Noami Campbell and Dita von Teese. The dresses will then be auctioned, giving you the chance to own your favourite dress forever with all proceeds from hire fee and the auction going to Topshop’s chosen charities Age Concern and Help the Aged.

A peek at the dresses:

Roberto Cavalli dress from Julia Restoin Roitfeld.

Lanvin dress from Kate Moss.

Antik Batik dress from Kimberley Stewart

Jayson Brundson dress from Dita Von Teese.

Nanette Lepore dress from Scarlett Johansson.

Dolce & Gabbana dress from Peaches Geldof.

More info about how to rent the dress of your dreams, go to www.insideout.topshop.com.
