Sea New York Spring Summer 2009

I know it’s a bit late to post pictures of summer clothing (I’m already checking the fall 2009 collections), but this brand is way to pretty to ignore it. The brand is Sea New York (or Sea NY) and their collection contains print dresses, slouchy romper suits and peg leg trousers.

Originally launched by New York-based designer Sean Monahan, Sea New York was designed for his close female friends based on the idea of creating clothes that made girls smile. Since its launch in autumn 2006, the line has developed a following among hip New York girls, including Alexa Chung, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chloe Sevigny. Prices range between £150 and £500.

More Kate – Preview Summer 2009

Just a few more days and Kate’s third summer collection will arrive at Topshop. A couple of posts back you could see Kate modelling a part of her summer collection. These pictures are the first product images. My personal opinion: Some stuff is really nice, some is the worst I’ve ever seen…… 

Somehow, I don’t like this dress. Boring shape and colours that remind me of happy childeren’s tv-shows………..

Glamorous cardigan.

This looks really pretty………love it, although it looks simular to the leopard print Barbara Hulanicki has used for her Topshop collection.

This is one of those dresses that looks horrible when you see it on the hanger, but can be brilliant when worn in real life.

Love the folkore print…….but since I had a conversation with miss Fairynxd about this dress I’m having associations with blushing milkmaids, cows and meadows……

Huh? WTF is this?

Hmm…..I’m expecting you will see these type of studded gladiator sandals in every store this summer.

Must have!

I like the sleeves, but the v-shape of the pink fabric at the torso is weird. 

I’m absolutely not getting this top. Hate it.

Kate Moss for Topshop Preview Summer 2009 collection

After the launch of the Kate Moss for Topshop Spring 2009 collection a couple of weeks ago, we’re all looking forward to her next designs for the Topshop Summer collection. These pictures show a preview of a small part of the collection (unfortunately i don’t know what magazine they’re from). Other items are a white cotton peplum dress and I’ve also seen a silver sequin maxi dress.

I like it that she’s styled differently from her normal looks…..the shoot has a very 1980’s Robert Palmer – Addicted to Love -kind of vibe.

Personally I love the leopard dress, the striped maxi dress and the last strapless dress.

Matthew Williamson for H&M – Preview Summer Collection

Following on from Matthew Williamson’s H&M collection that was launched last week, he also created a summer collection that will be available from the 14th of May. This collection will have a wider distribution and a bigger stock.  The collection will be in store longer than any H&M designer collaboration before. Added to this, Williamson has also designed a menswear range for the first time in his career.  

“This summer collection really embraces the holiday lifestyle. The silhouette is softened with the addition of long flowing dresses, smocks and kaftans in weightless fabric, and the peacock palette is warmed by accents of red and pink”, says Williamson.
