L.A.M.B. Fall 2010

Yesterday was the showing of L.A.M.B.’s Fall 2010 collection. The difficulty with L.A.M.B. is that their collection can be fantastic, or a complete bummer. Although Gwen Stefani is the “face” of the brand, since L.A.M.B.’s head desiners Zaldy and Andrea Lieberman left, the label became very mediocre. Since then it seems L.A.M.B.  has lost it’s original fifties-ska-punkrock roots. So what about this new collection…..

This season was a mature mixture of Gwen’s trademarks:  “vintage, boudoir, military, fifties, sexy, and futuristic.” I personally love all the leather items, I want the greenish leather pants, the leather shorts (hello again!) and the jackets with the pointy shoulders.

Walk-in to my dreams..

a girl can dream..

I’m in the mids of renovating and decorating my new home. The one room i’m embarassed about having not gotten to YET is my closet(or the 10 square meter former study room). I have a plan but haven’t gotten around to execute it since the house had other priorities such as the main living areas.  So now i have a room with a big pile of clothing bags and moving boxes and it frustrates me every morning having to dive in there to search for single items not being to find anything .. trust me it’s no fun. So to motivate myself i filled my clostet inspiration folder on my computer with jpg’s galore . Sometimes highly unrealistic but  jawdropping, envy-envoking pictures.. but now it’s time to share some of that with you guys and maybe it will be the kick in the … i need to get started on mine 😉 Practical storage solutions i guess are organizing everything till you can’t organize anymore; plastic containters, double rails, using the whole space you got(so as high as you can build the system is best). I chose pictures of some of the more atainable closets. I don’t want to make myself feel worse.

this is also part of my master plan- one glamourously wallpapered wall.

it really adds an atmosphere of ultra stylishness

i think this is a changing room, but the wallpaper is gorge

light and spacious feel

ceiling is the limit

not afraid of colour

love the chandelier

this is still within realistic proportions right??

love the rug but i’d need a housekeeper to keep the room dust-free

Olivia Palermo’s closet- the big mirror is not only practical but makes the room look more spacious

this is if you rather have clothing room that a living room

If you have a simple clean clothing collection or want to display your prettiest clothes a single rail(or branch) storage is for you:

L.A.M.B. Spring 2010

Finally Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B. label made a comeback on the runway! Two years ago L.A.M.B. had a beautiful mod/ska influenced Spring 2008 collection on the runway during New York Fashion Week, and after an absence of two years (and mediocre collections), L.A.M.B. looks reborn with a fresh Spring 2010 collection.
The clothes for this season can be described as “80’s street chic”: off-the-shoulder shirts, tye dye prints, zippers, harem pants, leggings, slouchy tops, “diaper skirts”, very short dresses and a bit of leopard. Although the fashion press names Bow Wow Wow and Bananarama as references, this collection is much more elegant and streamlined than the messy 80’s look. Love it!
My favorite looks (the jacket on the first picture is my must have item):

First Harajuku Lovers Store in the World!

Fashion guru Gwen Stefani not only transcends the music and fashion industry, her love for Harajuku fashion style in Japan has culminated in the launch of her accessories apparel brand “Harajuku Lovers” in 2005. With great Taiwanese consumer anticipation, “Harajuku Lovers” is finally opening its flagship store in May. Located in Taipei’s fashion pioneering Xinyi District, this will be the brand’s first independent store in the world.

Gathering of Global Fashion in Taiwan

Situated on the Western Pacific Rim, the island nation of Taiwan is an important hub of transportation. With rich island culture and characteristics, the people of Taiwan have a high level of acceptance for new things; hence Taiwan has become the distribution center for diverse culture and global fashion.

According to report, the ratio of domestic sales and imports for the clothing industry is roughly 4:6, with imported clothing being in the majority. In addition, Taiwanese people’s willingness in trying new things has resulted in the conglomeration of diverse international brands. Whether it’s the hippie, or the extravagant fashion style, are all widely accepted in Taiwan.

Recently, the fashion apparel expenditure of the Taiwanese public is on the rise, with annual sales of between NT$150-170 billion. Therefore, the distributor in Taiwan imported Gwen Stefani’s own brand “Harajuku Lovers” from the US, and opened up a store in Taipei’s Xinyi District (Taiwan). The store is the brand’s flagship store in Asia, bringing a unique mix and match Japanese Harajuku fashion to the vibrant streets of Taipei.

Distinctive Style and Celebrity Endorsement

In December of 2009, Harajuku Lovers doll fragrance was launched in Taiwan, and it became an instant hit with its adorable appearance, and was collected by many Harajuku Lovers followers. This year, the Harajuku Lovers garment, bag and watch will be introduced to Taiwan. In terms of tailoring and pattern, the design retains the essence of the Harajuku style; together with bold and imaginative use of colors, Harajuku Lovers is set to become yet another fashion statement in Taiwan.

Following in the footsteps of LAMB, Gwen Stefani’s fashion brand Harajuku Lovers once again comes to Taiwan. With Gwen Stefani’s distinctive style and trend setting fashion sense, Harajuku Lovers is set to bring about a new American fashion trend and street culture in Taiwan.

Launch of Harajuku Lovers in Asia as Market Test

Taiwan is known as the fashion distribution center in Asia. By selecting Taiwan to open its first store in Asia, Harajuku Lovers perceives great importance in Taiwanese people’s consumption power and high level of acceptance for fashion. In addition, Harajuku Lovers intends to use their Taiwan flagship store as the springboard to the rest of Asia.
